Chana Suzuki CQ2 to be completed

The Passenger Vehicle Capacity Expansion Project (CQ2) of Chongqing Chana Suzuki Automobile Co., Ltd. enters the final stage and is estimated to be completed and put into trial production in September 2013.

Located in Tianming Automobile and Motorcycle Industrial Park of Banan District, Chongqing, this expansion project covers an area of nearly 2,020 mu and attracts a total investment of some 5 billion yuan.

The project is to realize the annual production capacity of 250,000 autos and 250,000 engines and the annual output value of nearly 30 billion yuan after its full operation in 2015.

Elimination of outdated capacity to be sped up

Chongqing will speed up the elimination of outdated production capacity in 2013, local economy and informatization commission announced on May 30, 2013.

Statistics showed that a total of 103 high-pollution and high-emission firms involving in 11 key sectors such as cement, metallurgy, dyeing and printing, chemical fiber, etc., have been shut down in Chongqing to date.

Energy-saving, emission-reduction and environmental-friendly technologies have been promoted among the enterprises in Chongqing. Chongqing Pepsi-Tianfu Beverage Co., Ltd. has carried out 35 sustainable projects and attached great importance to the utilization of renewable resources.

The city plans to issue the Guidance on Enterprise Construction in Industrial Parks which will focus on pollution monitoring, construction of eco-friendly facilities, etc., in order to further standardize industrial companies.

Chongqing eyes 60 liver transplant surgery

Maturing technology of organ transplantation has saved a lot of people in China. Nearly 60 liver transplant surgery have so far been carried out in Chongqing, ranking the first nationwide.

However, there are still quite a few patients waiting for undergoing liver transplant surgery in the city.

Microsoft to build service delivery center in Chongqing

Microsoft, the largest software products supplier in the world, and the government of Chongqing Municipality on May 29, 2013 signed an agreement to build a global services delivery center in the megacity.

This services delivery center, offering services such as software products, services delivery, online business, etc,. will be set up in Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone. Besides, Microsoft is to help Chongqing introduce 5 to 10 service outsourcing firms and 1,000 talents.

Huang Qifan, mayor of Chongqing Municipality, said that the establishment of Microsoft’s third global services delivery center in Chongqing following the United States and India will greatly boost the city’s IT industry.

Gordon Frazer, Chief Operating Officer of Microsoft Greater China Region, spoke highly of the development of Chongqing’s electronic information industry, and he also believed that the cooperation between Microsoft and Chongqing will boost the economic development and transformation of this megacity. Chongqing guarantees waterway safety

The Three Gorges Reservoir is speeding up water discharge to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in order to cope with the flood season.

Water level in the Wanzhou section of the Yangtze River dropped to 152.65 meters at 8 a.m. on May 28, 2013. It is estimated that the water level in the Three Gorges Reservoir area will decline to 146.5 meters by June 10.

Marine departments at all levels in Chongqing have taken various kinds of measures to guarantee the safety of the passing ships.

Affected by the dropping water level in the reservoir, water level in Wulong section of the Wu River also declined gradually. Marine department in Wulong County has so far adjusted 26 navigation marks to ensure the waterway safety.

High output value of auto industry in Chongqing

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) – During the first 4 months of 2013, auto industry in Chongqing maintained the rapid growth and achieved an output value of 120.6 billion yuan, a 16.6% year-on-year increase; and the corresponding figures for auto manufacturing and motorcycle manufacturing are 88.7 billion yuan, 31.9 billion yuan and 21.2% and 5.4% respectively, according to Chongqing Economy and Informationization Commission on May 28, 2013.

During January to April, the production and sales of automobile in Chongqing were 668,000 and 676,000, seeing an increase of 23% and 26% respectively on the year before (both over 10% higher than the national level). The output values of automobiles and auto parts have both witnessed a year-on-year increase of over 20%.

Half of Chongqing MEs’ loan from CQRCB

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) – Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank has been enhancing the support for local micro-enterprises (MEs) in recent years. The loan balance of MEs in the 1st quarter of 2013 totaled 2.495 billion yuan, accounting for half of the loan balance of local MEs. And 63,600 ME settlement accounts were opened in the 1st quarter, making up nearly 80% of the total of Chongqing’s ME accounts.

Financing difficulty has been the bottleneck restricting the development of small and micro-enterprises for a long time. And Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank correspondingly set the Business Department for Small Enterprise, and the Small Enterprise Loan Centers in 42 branches, so as to introduce credit products specially for small and micro-enterprises.

Chongqing introduces agricola loan

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) – Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank introduced agricola operation loan in the whole municipality since the beginning of 2013. And farmers can receive the loan as much as 300,000 yuan. No similar cases have ever occurred in Chongqing’s financial market.

Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank firstly initiated the agricola loan in Wansheng District and Wulong County since November 2011, and further expanded to the whole municipality in 2013. This loan boasts the 5-year max period, and flexible guaranty styles, such as credit, guaranty, and pledge, etc, or combination of various methods.

Chongqing enters thunder season

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) – The temperature in Chongqing was 38.7℃ on May 28, 2013. While it dropped almost 20℃ due to the thunder, rainfall and gale in most places of Chongqing.

East of western, central, north of southeastern, and west of northeastern Chongqing witnessed moderate or heavy rainfall on May 29.

Chongqing Meteorological Observatory released the blue rainstorm alert and the yellow thunder alert in the early hours of the May 29 morning.
